BEWARE! This business exploits customers by blaming them for existing damage and forces to rent additional gear in order to obtain as much money as they can. When we arrived to the store on 2/20/2017, front desk employee forced us to rent snow pants and boots even though we had thick sport pants, and nowhere on their website it mentioned that these were required. We had reserved 2 double mobiles but one person got sick, so we ended up renting one single mobile and one double - they still charged us for 2 double mobiles and would not budge. They rushed us through checking of snowmobile as signing-in took a long time and told us if we were at all late, they will charge us extra. He never gave us a breakdown of charges or a receipt. After a regular 2 hour self-guided ride with no incidents, this employee blamed us for a bent part that was already there. One of the guides said had we paid for a guided tour, it would not have happened. The front desk employee said it will only cost us $260 to fix it, as it affects all parts of snowmobile. We found it strange that he had the exact amount so quickly. He said this snowmobile was going out of commission because of the damage; yet, few minutes later he told a guide to take this snowmobile for the tour he was leading. We asked that they leave the snowmobile and pointed to clear evidence that this part was previously damaged, as it was rusted, which cannot happen so quickly. Then he said he would split the cost with us. We told him that we wanted the snowmobile to be evaluated to determine whether damage had already existed - he refused and became incredibly rude, swearing and shouting at us. He told us "fine, you don't have to pay" and "to go away" as he has bigger problems. We still had balance for rented gear, so we paid for those charges and left. We were shocked at how we were treated and that as soon as we pointed to evidence, he had the snowmobile taken away. Later on that day, we saw a charge from Northern Extremes Snowmobiling for $260, which we are disputing. We have never experienced such disrespectful treatment and scam to get money from us. We do not advise anyone to use this business.
